Generation of an induced pluripotent stem cell line (SYSUi005-A) from a patient with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy

Summary

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is characterized by impaired energy metabolism irrespective of the degree of hypertrophy. Here, we reprogrammed peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) isolated from peripheral blood of a patient who suffered from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, into pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) (SYSUi005-A) using Sendai-virus. The established hiPSC line displayed a normal 46XY karyotype, showing strong expression of pluripotency markers and differentiation potential. This cell line may represent a valuable tool for investigating the pathogenesis and therapeutic strategies of HCM. Copyright © 2021 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
