Project Description
Generation of human-ape hybrid induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) for the study of gene regulatory changes between humans and other apes. This will include human-chimpanzee, human-bonobo, human-gorilla and human-orangutan iPSCs. Hybrid cells will be generated by fusing human and ape iPSCs using PEG, as described in Agoglia et al., Nature 2021 and Gokhman et al., Nature Genetics, 2021. No gametes or embryos will be generated.
